Just because you start out in one of the lower segments of the physician assistant salary, that does not mean that you have to stay there for the entirety of your career. Like most professions, there is room for movement upwards. It is not uncommon for recent graduates to receive entry level salaries. This is because they do not have much experience. But if lack of experience is what causes your salary to be low, then gaining experience is the key to increasing that salary. In order to move up within the physician assistant salary range, make extra effort to show your supervising doctor your willingness to go the extra mile. Go out of your way to learn all you can, be available to give a hand when needed, and ask to spend time seeing patients with the supervising doctor, so that you can learn from him. You will probably find that as you implement these strategies, you salary climbs steadily upward.
